Drifter Q and A!

Hey everybody, I thought it would be a good time to do another Q and A! Ask any question you'd like about the world of Drifter, whether it be about how I make the comic, or about the Drifter world specifically.
Please put your questions in the comment section, and thanks for participating in this semi-not-so-annual event!

Also
, Issue 11 of Drifter will be out in a few weeks, while I get the first few pages and script together. Thanks!

Hey man! Omega vs Master chief! who would win!?

Ha ha ha oh man...

Well, I assume my opinion will be biased but I'd say Omega. Master Chief is strong, but he's just a moderately enhanced human, while Omega is a Drifter which are naturally 30x stronger than an average human.

Chief could win if he used covenant weapons though, cuz Drifters still get plenty hurt by lasers methinks.

what are the neans?

Checkmark said...

That's a good question.

Neans are a race like humans, so they're not naturally strong like Drifters. They're entirely robotic though, and have an extremely high technology standing. Because they are robotic, it's common in their society to modify their bodies constantly, like humans wear clothes basically. They mostly stick to themselves though, and live in more enclosed rocky terrain where they can build their fortress-like cities.

As you saw in the 10th issue, Neans have some type of technology capable of capturing and releasing Evil Drifters by means of some type of vapor. (Ch.5)

They also would be the closest race to having sci-fi technology like teleportation and lasers.

What would the drifters do (bad and good) if a war broke out between the humans?

Checkmark said...

Well actually, that's what Drifter's original jobs were; which was to stop disputes between humans, or humans and Neans. It was easy for them to stop things like tanks, or armies because of their physical abilities, but then the firt Evil Drifter was made, and it threw things into a new era.

If the humans were to have a war in the time that's happening right now, it would probably go unnoticed because of the high climate of events happening in the Drifter world right now.

i would have thought that the evil drifters would play humans against each other, like the devil

Checkmark said...

Nah, that's too intellectual for evil drifters. They just like killing and breaking stuff themselves.

The only evil drifter who might do that would be Dullton, at least that's what I'd say for now.

Can drifters make baby drifters?

Checkmark said...

The next issue starts tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 1st!

And as for the question "can drifter make baby Drifters?" No. They can't. As shown in the last issue when Omega emerged from the ocean, Drifters are formed from the ground and surrounding terrain, so they don't reproduce.

oh ok. Well, this next question may be a bit strange then, but why do the girl drifters have breasts? They don't have any babies to nurse....hey! I'm just sayin!

Checkmark said...

Well I suppose that they maybe more for the reason that they would look particularly "un-female" if they didn't...?

I think the Drifter world would be a sad place if all the females looked like characters like Ilbark and Esker...
